Cuan House Wildlife RescueA Brief History...Back in 1990, Megan lived on the small island of Luing of the West Coast of Scotland where she carried out "beached bird surveys" for the RSPB. Whilst this basically meant collecting any dead birds for analysis, the locals took it that she was interested in any birds and started to bring her injured live ones for her ministrations! When she moved to Much Wenlock, she contacted the RSPCA to see what services were available in the area for injured wildlife. It was apparent that, except for medical services from the veterinary centres, there was little available and so she started her rehabilitation centre which has continued to grow over the years. The Rescue Centre became a registered charity in 2003 and, in 2005, treated nearly 1,500 casualties. The facilities are all purpose built to meet the needs of any wildlife casualty that may be brought in, at any time of the day or night. The centre is run by Megan and her full time assistant Jo Hedges, backed up by a team of dedicated and hard working volunteers.
